• This is currently an active state tower
• The original tower was moved from Bluff Head in Sharon to this location
• The tower sits on leased land
• In 1938, two-way radios were installed.
• Also in 1938, the Hurricane of '38 causes damage and repairs are made
• In 1945, new power and phone lines are installed to the tower
• In 1949, a weather station is installed
• In 1956, guy wires are added to the tower
• In 1966, a new tower (current one) was built
• The current tower now has a chain link fence around it
• In 1992, a new 10 x 10 cab was installed
• In 1998, the stairs and landings were replaced
• As of the year 2000, the state owns the title to the land
